Celebrated Ugandan artist King Saha has announced that he is working on a remix of “Kankutendereze,” a timeless hit by legendary singer Mesach Semakula. The original song, widely cherished for its powerful message of gratitude to God, has resonated with listeners for years and remains an emotional highlight during Semakula’s performances.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the remix, King Saha revealed his deep personal connection to the song.

“It’s a very good song, loved by my family, especially my mother,” he said. “I’ve always sung it at home, but I wanted to express my gratitude to God in a more impactful way—and that’s what led me to work on this remix.”

Out of respect and admiration, King Saha first sought permission from Mesach Semakula, who warmly gave his blessing.

“I already received blessings from Mesach Semakula, who gave me the go-ahead,” Saha shared.

The remix, which is still in the works, is expected to maintain the soul and sincerity of the original while bringing in King Saha’s unique vocal style and modern production.
