The relationship between these two individuals started off well. Dan Flavor was running an Airbnb business, where he rented houses and sublet them to others.
One day, Nabawanuka Lydia, also known as Lydia Jazmine, visited his residence in Munyonyo and requested that he rent her a house. They agreed on a monthly payment of 2.5 million Ugandan Shillings, totaling about 24 million over the rental period. Lydia initially paid 18 million and moved in.
However, shortly after moving in, Lydia began to damage Dan's reputation by instructing the gatekeeper to tell others that Dan Flavor was a scammer. Her actions aimed to undermine his credibility as the owner of the property.
A few days later, Lydia posted about the house on social media, expressing her gratitude, saying, "Oh my God, I cannot forget to thank the Lord for my house." She invited her mother and friends for a housewarming party. Subsequently, the actual owner of the property from Norway discovered that the house had been put up for rent without his knowledge. He contacted Dan via WhatsApp with screenshots asking, “Did you sell my house?” Dan clarified that he had not sold the house; Lydia was merely a tenant, and he had been operating an Airbnb business.
In response, the owner sent legal representatives, and Lydia soon realized the situation was becoming problematic for Dan. In a hurried attempt to shift blame, she went to the police station and filed a case of false pretense against him. As a result, Dan had to go into hiding to avoid being apprehended.
