Anne Kansiime’s Comedy Grill: A Night of Roasts, Laughter, and Celebration at Sheraton Gardens

Friday night was nothing short of electric as Uganda’s comedy lovers gathered at Sheraton Gardens for a landmark event—Comedy Grill, celebrating 10 years of comedy excellence by the beloved Anne Kansiime. Organized by Talent Africa Group, the event blended humour, heartfelt moments, and star power into a night to remember.

Guests were welcomed with a signature Uganda Waragi Lemon & Ginger cocktail on the red carpet, setting the tone for an evening of playful jabs and unfiltered fun.

A Power-Packed Lineup of “Grill Chefs”

The Comedy Grill boasted an impressive lineup of comedians and personalities, dubbed “Grill Chefs,” who delivered non-stop laughter throughout the night. The roster featured top names like Salvador, Madrat, Chico, Nana Kagga, GNL Zamba, Gaetano Kaggwa, Dr. Miria Matembe, Prim Asiimwe, and Skylanta. Each brought their own comedic flavour to the stage, making for a roast that was as unpredictable as it was hilarious.

Anne Kansiime Takes the Heat with Grace

The night’s honouree, Anne Kansiime, stole the spotlight in a stunning pink floral gown. She embraced every roast with grace and infectious laughter, showing the crowd exactly why she’s earned her place as a comedy icon.

When it was her turn at the mic, Kansiime beamed and joked, “You have let me make a fool of myself and now my heart is full.” She went on to thank her fans, roasters, sponsors, and everyone who’s stood by her over the last decade.

A New Comedy Tradition in the Making

As the evening wound down, the audience left with smiles and aching cheeks—a clear sign that Comedy Grill had delivered. With its mix of heartfelt tributes and sharp-tongued humour, the event felt like the beginning of what could become a cherished annual tradition in Uganda’s entertainment calendar.
